About

Lisa Glaser, Owner of “Trinkets for you” has been designing jewelry since 1978 and established Trinkets in January of 2007 to help with her children’s college costs while sharing her passion for stones and design.

Inspiration:
Lisa’s art and small business career was inspired by her grandparents, Bruce and Francis Hallgren. Bruce left a job as an accountant for Gus Glaser Meats in the 1950s to open a “Hobby Craft” store that featured art supplies, small gauge railroads, slot cars, science projects, beading and a variety of crafts. Lisa helped out in the store frequently and learned basic business principals and developed an entrepreneurial mindset from the experiences. The greatest lesson learned however was the importance of outstanding customer service.

Education
Lisa was fortunate to attend Fort Dodge Senior High where the curriculum included 3D design and silver smithing. It was with the support of her art teacher, Doug Harrell, that she was recommended and attended an advanced silver and metal design class at Iowa State University during her first year of college. Lisa has also continued to learn through research as well as taking classes at the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts and through the Des Moines Art Center.

Displays and Priorities
Since inception in 2007, “Trinkets for you ” has used natural and up-cycled materials for displays. Lisa believes that her designs are complimented by this reverence for nature and the preservation of our natural resources. As the business moves towards supporting the arts and art shows, it will continue to grow with this same focus on nature and sustainability.

Quality, Integrity and Affordability
Whether it’s designs under “Trinkets for you” or festival wares under “Gypsy Moon Trading Company” the business priority and vision has always been to insure great quality in all products. The goal is not to maximize profits, but to assure that every purchase fits the new owner. The high percentage of repeat business and friends made through the business over the year is our greatest accomplishment.

“Thanks for your support in helping this small business grow and thrive and for making my dreams come true and huge thanks to Don Glaser, Linda Harcourt Mount and my family for their ongoing support as well” ~Lisa
